GiliSoft Exe Lock 2.0

GiliSoft Exe Lock allows you to prevent unauthorized use of your applications. This application locks files on your computer so that no other users but you can open them, just like GiliSoft File Lock does. However, you can only lock .EXE executable files with this one. When you first launch the application, you will have to set a master password so that GiliSoft Exe Lock can't be opened by anyone else. From within the application, you select the files that you want to lock. There doesn't seem to be a limit of files that you can lock. When you lock a file and try to open it by double-clicking it, you will get a system error saying that you don't have the necessary permissions to access it. When a file is locked, you can still run it from within GiliSoft Exe Lock. From there you can also simply uncheck any .EXE files to unlock them.

In my testing, the application did a great job of locking me out of .EXE files. I like that you can simply select a shortcut on your desktop and the application will automatically find the .EXE and lock that, instead of the shortcut.
